Art Park

ARTPARK CATALYST  / Installation design / studio UBC architecture / 2013

Intended as the first stage in the implementation of a Vancouver Arts District, this project addresses visibility, affordability and the integration of many diverse arts institutions. Adjacent from one of the busiest skytrain stations in Vancouver, and two main traffic arteries, the site is an opportunity for the public to interact with and view the work of contemporary Vancouver artists. The installation of 30 architectural tent like pavilions each curated by an artist run centre or gallery, claims space in the city to begin a conversation about the future of the arts in Vancouver.
